Hubert Enviro Care Systems (HECS) spent three days at IFAT India 2026 Mumbai, meeting industry professionals, visitors and government representatives at Stall C073 in Hall 4. Two moments stood out: a visit from a West Bengal Government minister on the opening day, and a 3D walkthrough of treatment plants that drew visitors on Day 2.
- Event: IFAT India 2026
- City: Mumbai
- Stand: Stall C073, Hall 4
- Duration: Three days
- Highlights: Ministerial visit (Day 1) and 3D treatment plant walkthrough (Day 2)
Day 1: Discussing urban wastewater with the Government of West Bengal
On the opening day, Hon. Smt. Agnimitra Paul, Minister-in-Charge, Department of Urban Development & Municipal Affairs, Government of West Bengal, visited the HECS stall. The discussion explored how HECS could support the West Bengal Government with sustainable and innovative wastewater treatment solutions.
Growing cities need dependable wastewater infrastructure to keep up with changing urban water management needs. HECS welcomed the chance to discuss technology-led approaches that can serve wastewater treatment requirements across different applications. For projects in the state, our guide to WBPCB regulations for STPs in West Bengal explains the discharge norms that apply.
Day 2: Exploring treatment plants in 3D
The 3D walkthrough became a major attraction on Day 2. Instead of reading drawings or brochures, visitors could move through a digital model and see how wastewater moves through each treatment stage, how the systems are configured and how the engineering fits together.
The walkthrough covered HECS capabilities across:
By pairing engineering expertise with digital visualisation, HECS made complex treatment concepts easier to understand for visitors looking for practical wastewater treatment solutions.
The technologies behind the systems: MBBR, SBR and MBR
Three biological treatment technologies are part of the wider technology landscape relevant to different wastewater treatment requirements. Each suits different needs.
MBBR (Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor)
Bacteria grow on floating media in an aerated tank, giving stable treatment even when loads vary. Used in the HECS Ultima Series.
SBR (Sequencing Batch Reactor)
Aeration and settling take place in a single tank in timed cycles, a cost-effective option for many sites.
MBR (Membrane Bioreactor)
Membranes separate the treated water from the biomass, giving high-quality water for reuse in a compact footprint. Used in HECS Amaze MBR.
The right choice depends on the wastewater, the space available, discharge norms and reuse plans.
Smart monitoring and automation
The showcase also reflected how digitalisation is changing environmental engineering. When implemented properly, IoT-enabled monitoring, automation and smart wastewater management give operators better visibility of plant performance and support better-informed decisions. Three days of conversations at IFAT India 2026 Mumbai
Across the three days, the HECS team exchanged ideas with industry professionals, visitors and stakeholders, discussed wastewater management challenges and explored areas for future collaboration. The conversations confirmed the continuing need for reliable treatment technology, efficient operation and sustainable water management in industrial and urban settings.
Mumbai followed HECS’s participation in IFAT India 2026 in Delhi, where the focus was on packaged STP solutions.
Thank you to everyone who visited Stall C073 and spent time with our team. The exhibition is over, but the conversations continue. HECS looks forward to working with industry and government stakeholders on sustainable wastewater treatment and responsible water management.
